Promotional Sticky Note Design Advice

Friday, 20 September 2019 10:12:22 AM Australia/Sydney

We often get asked about how best to design adhesive notes for marketing campaigns and events. While all clients will have different needs and requirements, here are a few pointers for standard custom notes that we think are helpful.

Sticky Note Design Ideas

Always Leave Space to Write

It is essential to remember that at the end of the day, most people will use sticky notes as a means for jotting down reminders to themselves and other important details. Why is this important? Because it impacts the design, you will ultimately choose for your custom branded adhesive notes. It might be tempting to put a huge logo on your page that takes up a lot of space - it definitely will get noticed! However, if your recipients cannot use the paper for comfortable jotting, then they likely won't use it at all. If having a large symbol or logo is important to you, consider a light colour that can be written over instead of a very dark, clear one.

Remember, Recycled Paper Isn't Bright White

We all like doing the right thing when it comes to the environment, which is why an increasing number of our customers are choosing eco-friendly recycled sticky notes over the standard bleached paper style. It is worth remembering, however, that if you opt for the recycled paper, it will not be a bleached, bright white colour which can impact how vibrant your overall design will look. For most people, this isn't an issue, and frankly, the difference is subtle -- but if exact colour matching is essential to your corporate look this is one to keep in mind!

Pick a Note Size Based on Recipient Needs

Are you distributing your promotional adhesive notes at a conference and want your recipients to use them to jot down notes? Then you might actually be in need for an A5 Custom Notepad or A4 Promo Notepaper instead. Similarly, if you're looking to slip a tiny gift with your logo on it into an expo bag, you're probably looking for a 75x75mm sticky note pad. Consider the event or campaign you will be distributing your sticky notes at and how you think your recipients will want to use them, then discuss with our sales team the variety of options available to meet these requirements. Don't work the other way around ("I'm going to buy an A4 notepad and who cares if the event doesn't have bags for the recipients to put them in!") because it could lead to an ignored or unloved product.

3 Fun Sticky Note Ice Breakers

Monday, 1 July 2019 10:45:00 AM Australia/Sydney

Sticky notes are great for writing down quick points to the remember, sending messages or organising folders and binders. Although, a new unique way to utilise sticky notes with your students or co-workers is to do some friendly ice breaker challenges. Here are our top three favourite ways to use sticky notes as ice breakers.

Sticky Notes as Event Icebreakers

1. Two Truths, One Lie

This is a game which involves writing down two truths and one lie on the sticky note. Stick it to your forehead and have people guess which of the points is false. Another way to play this game is to have two groups write down two truths and one lie on a sticky note, put all the sticky notes in two piles and switch the piles between the teams. Then the two groups battle to determine which opposing sticky note belongs where. This is great as it involves teamwork, comedic deception and learning.

2. Celebrity Heads

Everyone knows the classic game of celebrity heads where you write a famous person’s name and stick it on your forehead so other people can guess. Sticky notes make it just that much easier to place the notes on your forehead! As a team exercise, this is fantastic as it gets people talking and bonding. Feel free confine the scope of the celebrity, for example, to famous Oscar winners.

3. Match Wars

Match wars involve having people write down five unique facts about themselves on sticky notes and providing the notes to the leader. The leader will then stick the notes on the wall and individuals have to match which fact they think belongs to which person. The person with the most matched facts wins. This is another quirky ice breaker that informs your co-workers or students about the rest of the group whilst also providing a sense of camaraderie and friendship.

Who Uses Custom Sticky Notes?

Monday, 6 May 2019 11:04:29 AM Australia/Sydney

Sticky notes are a classic among the business world but with the rise of technology does anybody still find a use for them? The short answer is yes. Even though everybody loves technology, the simplicity, reliability and creative feats of sticky notes mean they are here to stay.

Custom Sticky Notes - Who Uses Them?

Adhesive Notes as Simple

For those of us not super tech savvy, sticky notes are an easy way to take notes and affix them to easy to read places. Having notes constantly in your purview is a fantastic way of keeping on top of your game and remembering important things.

Logo Branded Note Paper is Reliable

Sticky notes offer a sense of reliability that technology cannot match. Computers require power and management to maintain your key information. But in the event of a computer failure or power outage, you will be left in the dark (literally) of all your important reminders. Luckily sticky notes are permanent and are usually found in every workplace for a reliable way of notetaking.

Custom Sticky Notes Allow Creativity

Sticky notes are also able to colour coordinated to offer a creative flair to your reminders. People enjoy categorising information and sticky notes are a great way to do so. This is a great way of addressing priority levels of tasks and information and will act as subconscious reminders for your notetaking. Sticky notes are also fun ways of sending messages to co-workers or friends. Try and use them as a surprise to brighten up someone’s day.
