Environmental Policy

Our Environmental Promise

Last update 15th April 2025

At Sticky Notes Australia, we design sticky notes to keep your ideas in place—without putting the planet at risk. Sustainability isn't an add-on; it's built into how we make, package, and deliver every pad.

Responsible Materials, Thoughtful Production

Our sticky notes start with FSC®-certified paper, ensuring forests thrive for generations. But we don't stop there—we control what we can in-house and partner with manufacturers who meet our strict ethical and environmental standards.

  • In-house printing: Where possible, we produce our sticky notes using water-based inks and low-impact adhesives, cutting unnecessary waste at the source.
  • When we produce sticky notes, we will inevitably have off-cut packs of pads. When the off-cuts are big enough to be used (our criteria is offcuts to be over 4x3cm), we will provide them to the customer free of charge. Only when the off-cuts are too small will we dispose of them for recycling.
  • Trusted partners: When we work with external manufacturers, we choose only those who share our commitment to fair labour, energy efficiency, and minimal chemical use. No exceptions.

Carbon Neutral—By Design

We're proud to be carbon neutral but don't rely on offsets. First, we reduce:

✔ Optimized production runs (no excess inventory gathering dust)

✔ Efficient shipping (bundled orders, low-emission carriers)

✔ Renewable energy in our facilities where possible

The emissions we can't yet eliminate? They're balanced through verified projects like reforestation and clean energy—real solutions, not just paperwork.

Packaging That Makes Sense

There is no plastic fluff here. Our packaging is:

  • Minimal (because less is more)
  • Recyclable or biodegradable (so it disappears responsibly)
  • Designed to protect without excess (no bubble wrap nightmares)

After the Stickiness Fades…

Sticky notes aren't forever, but their impact can be. Here's how to keep it green:

  • Reuse them for drafts, labels, or bookmarks.
  • Recycle right—most Aussie councils accept them with paper waste (check local rules).

Never "Good Enough"

We're constantly pushing further:

  • Testing recycled paper blends for future products
  • Phasing out any non-essential adhesives
  • Asking for environmental policies from partners on waste and energy reductions and any independent audits conducted.

Why It Matters

When you choose us, you're backing a business that prints its products when it can, audits what it can't, and never greenwashes. Small notes, big responsibility. See our policies on our return policy to learn about how we look after our clients.
